The story on this card

Osteen returned to the Reds' bullpen in 1967, pitching in 10 games for 14.1 innings and going 0-2 with a 6.28 ERA and two saves. He appears again on a Cincinnati Reds Rookie Stars card, 1967 Topps #222 in the set's third series, sharing the card once more with Lee May; his rookie card is the 1966 issue. Right-handed reliever Darrell Osteen pitched for the Cincinnati Reds (1965-67) and Oakland Athletics (1970), posting a 1-4 career record over 29 games; he is not a Hall of Famer.

May won the Reds' first-base job for good in 1967, batting .265 with 12 home runs and 57 RBI over 127 games while splitting time in the outfield. The Sporting News named him NL Rookie of the Year for the performance. This card is a Rookie Stars issue from Topps' third print series, again pairing May with Darrell Osteen as the two Reds prospects share the card. A powerful right-handed first baseman for the Reds, Astros, Orioles and Royals, Lee May hit 354 career home runs and posted 100-RBI seasons for three different franchises.
