The story on this card

Camilli's first major league hit came on April 30, 1971, a single to center off Oakland's Vida Blue that ended a 34-at-bat hitless start, the longest to open a career by a non-pitcher since records began in 1908. He played 39 games that season and hit .198 with 16 hits. Card #612, from the fifth series, is a Rookie Stars card with Cleveland teammates Ted Ford and Steve Mingori, and it is the rookie card for Camilli and Ford. Switch-hitting utility infielder from Texas A&M who played four seasons for the Cleveland Indians, 1969 to 1972, and finished his career with Oklahoma City in 1973.

Ford split 1971 between Cleveland and Triple-A Wichita, batting .194 in 74 games for the Indians and .330 for the Aeros. He later said he spent a lot of time on the bench behind players like Vada Pinson. He believed a ball he hit off the wall against the Senators caught the eye of their manager, Ted Williams. His #612 card is a Rookie Stars issue with Lou Camilli and Steve Mingori, all three with the Cleveland Indians, and is the rookie card for Ford and Camilli. Ted Ford was a right fielder known for his arm, a first-round pick of the Indians in 1966 who played for Cleveland and Texas from 1970 to 1973. He later played eight seasons in the Mexican League.

Mingori's 1970 followed the Reds' trade of him to Cleveland for Jay Ward, and he went 1-0 with a 2.66 ERA in 21 relief appearances. In 1971 he went 1-2 with four saves and 45 strikeouts. He shares #612 in the fifth series with Lou Camilli and Ted Ford, a three-man Rookie Stars card with all three printed as Cleveland Indians. Left-handed reliever for the Cleveland Indians and Kansas City Royals from 1970 to 1979, a Kansas City native who finished 18-33 with 42 saves and pitched in three straight ALCS defeats to the Yankees.
