About Chip Lang
Lang worked mainly out of Montreal's bullpen in 1976, starting twice in 29 appearances and pitching 62 1/3 innings. He went 1-3 with a 4.19 ERA and 30 strikeouts that season. His 1977 Topps rookie card was #132 for the Montreal Expos.
Chip Lang pitched for Montreal in two major-league seasons, making his first appearance on September 8, 1975. Earlier in the Expos' farm system, he went 5-1 with a 1.70 ERA for the Double-A Quebec Carnavals in the Eastern League in 1974. He completed one of nine starts there and struck out 57 in 69 innings. His final major-league appearance came on October 3, 1976. Lang later worked for Triple-A Denver, making 28 appearances for the Bears in 1977. Across his major-league career, he pitched 64 innings with 32 strikeouts and a 4.36 ERA.
