About Jackson Todd
Todd's first major-league win came in his first start, against San Francisco on May 19, 1977. He also collected his only MLB hit off Ed Halicki. His Mets rookie card was 1978 Topps #481, following a season of 19 appearances, including 10 starts, and a 4.77 ERA.
Jackson Todd was a right-handed pitcher for the Mets and Blue Jays whose professional career included a return from cancer treatment. The Mets selected him in the second round of the 1973 draft after 3 seasons at Oklahoma. Following surgery and chemotherapy, he resumed pitching with Double-A Jackson in 1975. He later worked mainly as a starter for Toronto, winning 5 games in 1980 and finishing his career with 7 complete games. After his playing career, Todd coached pitchers in several minor-league organizations before returning to Oklahoma as its pitching coach in 1996.
