About Jack Sikma
Jack Sikma took the small-college road to stardom, jumping from tiny Illinois Wesleyan to the Seattle SuperSonics as the eighth overall pick in the 1977 NBA draft. The 6'11" center made the All-Rookie Team, then anchored Seattle's 1979 NBA championship — his free throws sealed Game 4 of the Finals — while reeling off seven straight All-Star nods from 1979 to 1985 plus an All-Defensive Second Team spot in 1982. He closed with five seasons in Milwaukee (1986-91), retiring with 17,287 points and 10,816 rebounds across 14 years. Back home he was 'the Wichert Wonder,' a nickname earned starring for St. Anne High after growing up in rural Wichert, Illinois. His signature was the 'Sikma move' — a reverse pivot into a step-back, behind-the-head jumper big men still copy. Not a rookie card, this Fleer #76 catches a stretch big ahead of his time — 38% from three in 1988-89 — and a 2019 Naismith Hall of Fame inductee whose No. 43 hangs in Seattle.
