About Elmer Flick
Born 1876 in Bedford, OH (d. 1971), Elmer Flick was a left-handed outfielder who debuted in 1898 and played 13 major-league seasons. He batted .313 with 1,752 hits, 48 home runs, and 330 stolen bases in 1,483 games. He was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1963. After he won the 1905 American League batting title, Detroit offered to trade a young Ty Cobb straight up for him, but Cleveland turned the deal down.
