About Gil Hodges
Born 1924 in Princeton, IN (d. 1972), Gil Hodges was a right-handed first baseman who debuted in 1943 and played 18 major-league seasons. He batted .273 with 1,921 hits, 370 home runs, 1,274 RBI, and 63 stolen bases over 2,071 games. He was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame.
