1955 Topps All-American #63 Charlie Justice

About Charlie Justice
Charlie Justice picked up the nickname Choo Choo in the Navy during World War II, when an officer said the shifty young back ran like a runaway train, and he spent four autumns at North Carolina proving it. From 1946 through 1949 the Tar Heel tailback ran or passed for 64 touchdowns, piled up 4,883 yards of total offense, a school record that lasted 45 years, and even led the nation in punting in 1948 with a 44.1-yard average. Carolina went 32-9-2 in his four seasons while Justice earned first-team All-America honors in 1948 and 1949 and finished as Heisman Trophy runner-up both years. He later played four seasons with the Washington Redskins, and in 1961 he was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame.
