1958 Topps #312 Boston Red Sox Team
One of the 16 team cards — 1958 was the first year Topps printed checklists on team-card backs.

About the 1958 Boston Red Sox
The Boston Red Sox finished third in the American League in 1957 at 82-72, but the headline was Ted Williams. At age 38 in 1957, 'The Splendid Splinter' hit .388 to lead the majors, then won another batting title in 1958 at .328 - making him, at 39 and 40, the oldest player ever to win a batting crown. Still among the most feared hitters in the game late in his career, Williams was Boston's marquee attraction. The back of card #312 carries a series checklist, a feature Topps introduced on team cards in 1958, so the card doubles as both a team photo and a set checklist.
