1959 Topps #150 Stan Musial
Stan Musial's FIRST Topps card. Musial had no Topps contract through the 1950s and does not appear in a Topps set until this one — a landmark card.

About Stan Musial
Stan "The Man" Musial began as a pitcher in the Cardinals' minor-league system before an arm injury pushed him to the outfield, launching a 22-year career (1941–1963) spent entirely with St. Louis. His 1959 Topps card captured him as a 38-year-old franchise icon still active near the end of an unmatched run: seven National League batting titles, three MVP awards (1943, 1946, 1948), and three World Series championships (1942, 1944, 1946). A 20-time All-Star, Musial finished with 3,630 hits, 475 home runs, and a .331 career average, and his 1,377 extra-base hits remain a major-league record. At retirement his hit and run totals trailed only Ty Cobb, and his RBI total trailed only Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig. Musial was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1969 and is remembered as one of the greatest and most beloved hitters the game has produced.
