The story on this card
This 1964 Topps card, number 138 and part of the second print series, is part of the World Series subset recapping the Dodgers' four-game sweep of the Yankees the previous October. The front pictures Ron Fairly, and the card commemorates Los Angeles taking a 3-0 Series lead behind Don Drysdale's complete-game three-hitter at Dodger Stadium. The lone run scored in the first inning on a walk, a wild pitch, and a two-out single. The game's defining moment came at the end, when Joe Pepitone drove a ball to right field that Fairly ran down and caught against the bullpen gate, robbing what would have been a home run in Yankee Stadium and sealing Drysdale's win.
