The story on this card

1967 Topps #367 pairs Kelso with Don Wallace on another Rookie Stars card, issued in the set's fourth print series and representing the California Angels. The card lands in his best big-league season: Kelso pitched in a career-high 69 games out of the Angels bullpen in 1967, finishing third in the American League in appearances while working almost entirely in relief. A Kansas City-raised right-hander who pitched for the Angels and Reds in the 1960s before a 29-year scouting career that included finding future big-league talent for Houston.

Don Wallace's card comes from Topps' fourth print series of 1967, sharing space on the Rookie Stars card with fellow Angels prospect Bill Kelso. Wallace was in the middle of his only big-league season, a 23-game stretch with California in which he went hitless in six at-bats while scoring twice, seeing time at second base and briefly at first. Both players pictured represent the California Angels. This is a recognized rookie card for Wallace, issued during the only season he spent in the majors. An Oklahoma-born infielder who got a 23-game look with the 1967 California Angels, playing mostly second base and briefly first but never recording a major league hit.
