The story on this card

1969 Topps #66 is a Rookie Stars card from the first print series, pairing Mike Adamson with fellow Orioles rookie Merv Rettenmund, both pictured as members of the Baltimore Orioles. It is a recognized rookie card for both players. Adamson had already appeared with the Orioles in 1967 and 1968 by the time this card reached shelves, and 1969 proved to be his final major league season before he moved on to the Baltimore and then Milwaukee farm systems. Right-hander who went straight from USC to the Orioles bullpen in 1967 without a day in the minors, pitching parts of three big-league seasons before finishing his career in Milwaukee's farm system.

1969 Topps #66 is a Rookie Stars card shared with fellow Orioles pitcher Mike Adamson, part of the set's first print series. Rettenmund had broken in with Baltimore the year before and would open 1969 in a reserve outfield role behind Frank Robinson, Paul Blair and Don Buford, appearing in 95 games as the Orioles won the American League pennant and faced the Mets in the World Series. Baltimore Orioles outfielder who helped power three straight pennants (1969-71) and the 1970 World Series title, then added a second ring with the 1975 Reds.
