About Ken McMullen
In 1973, his first season back in Los Angeles, McMullen hit 5 home runs and drove in 18 runs in 85 at-bats. His 1974 Topps #434 listed him with the Dodgers, where he kept backing up third baseman Ron Cey. That October he made his only postseason at-bat, striking out against Pittsburgh's Bruce Kison in the National League Championship Series.
Ken McMullen played 16 major league seasons as a right-handed-hitting third baseman for the Dodgers, Senators, Angels, Athletics and Brewers. At Oxnard High School he earned first-team All-CIF Southern Section honors as an outfielder in the AAA Division in 1960. The Dodgers signed him after graduation, and he reached the majors in September 1962 at age 20. He appeared in 1,583 major league games. He finished with 1,273 hits, 156 home runs and 606 RBI. His final major league at-bat, for Milwaukee on September 14, 1977, was a pinch-hit home run off Seattle's Tom House.
