1976 Topps #252 Tim Nordbrook

About Tim Nordbrook
Nordbrook's 1976 was split between Baltimore and California: 32 games, 16 at shortstop and 15 at second base, with five hits in 30 at-bats for a .167 average. His #252 is a rookie card and pictures him with the Orioles, who had used him in 41 games the year before, 37 of them at shortstop.
Tim Nordbrook was a right-handed shortstop who played six seasons in the American League, from 1974 to 1979, with the Baltimore Orioles, California Angels, Chicago White Sox, Toronto Blue Jays and Milwaukee Brewers. A Baltimore native, he attended Loyola High School in Towson and Loyola University New Orleans, where he played baseball and basketball, and the Orioles drafted him in the ninth round (222nd overall) in June 1970. He debuted on September 13, 1974, and in 1977 he hit .193 in 39 games between the White Sox and Blue Jays. He finished with a .178 average in 129 games. Because he left the Angels as a free agent in 1976, California was entitled to an extra signing from that year's free-agent class. After playing, he managed in the Brewers farm system until he was fired at Stockton midway through 1984; Mike Pazik replaced him.
