About this card

About John Stockton
Fleer #115 is John Stockton's rookie card — his first major-brand issue after appearing only in Star Company sets, and a cornerstone of the 1988-89 checklist. The Gonzaga product, 1984 WCAC Player of the Year, went 16th overall to Utah in the 1984 draft to the stunned silence of Jazz fans at the Salt Palace. Nineteen seasons later — every one in a Jazz uniform, every one a playoff trip — the 6'1" point guard owned the NBA's career records for assists (15,806) and steals (3,265), both by wide margins. He led the league in assists nine straight seasons (1988-1996), took the steals crown twice (1989, 1992), made ten All-Star teams, and ran the pick-and-roll with Karl Malone to back-to-back NBA Finals in 1997 and 1998. A 1992 and 1996 Olympic gold medalist and NBA 75th Anniversary Team selection, Stockton entered the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in 2009.

What is the 1988-89 Fleer All-Star subset?
Cards #120-131: Fleer's own twelve-card All-Star Team subset - its first - in a dedicated design, headlined by Michael Jordan #120.
