1988-89 Fleer #11 Kevin McHale

About Kevin McHale
Red Auerbach fleeced Golden State in 1980, turning the No. 1 overall pick into Robert Parish plus the third selection — which became Kevin McHale, an All-Big Ten forward from Minnesota. The 6'10" power forward spent all 13 seasons (1980-93) with the Boston Celtics, joining Larry Bird and Parish in arguably the greatest frontcourt ever and winning championships in 1981, 1984, and 1986. Back-to-back Sixth Man of the Year awards (1984, 1985) gave way to a starting role, All-NBA First Team honors in 1987, seven All-Star nods, six All-Defensive selections, and 17,335 career points on 55.4% shooting. His footwork-driven low-post arsenal — he called it "the torture chamber" — was nearly impossible to guard one-on-one, and his 56 points against Detroit in March 1985 stood as the Celtics' single-game record for nine days, until Bird poured in 60. Not a rookie card, this Fleer issue arrives in his ninth season, a 22.5-point All-Star campaign. Springfield called in 1999.

Graded population — a scarcity guide, not a price. Snapshot 2026-08-18. Half grades fold down for both graders (8.5→8); PSA qualified slabs (OC, ST, PD, MC and the like) are not counted. The graders do not break out the stickers, so sticker pages carry no table.
