About Otis Thorpe

Otis Thorpe arrived out of Providence, where he was the Friars' first First-Team All-Big East selection, before the Kansas City Kings took him ninth overall in the 1984 NBA Draft. He moved west with the franchise to Sacramento in 1985 and grew into a workhorse power forward, peaking in 1987-88 with career highs of 20.8 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game. Fleer's Kings photo was outdated almost as soon as packs hit shelves: in October 1988 Sacramento dealt him to Houston for Rodney McCray and Jim Petersen, making this card the bookend of his Kings run. With the Rockets he made the 1992 All-Star team, ran off 542 consecutive games played, and started at power forward on Houston's 1994 championship squad before being traded for Clyde Drexler in 1995. He retired in 2001 as the last active former Kansas City King, with 17,600 points and 10,370 rebounds across 17 seasons. Not a rookie card, but a fine snapshot of an underrated career.

Graded population — a scarcity guide, not a price. Snapshot 2026-08-18. Half grades fold down for both graders (8.5→8); PSA qualified slabs (OC, ST, PD, MC and the like) are not counted. The graders do not break out the stickers, so sticker pages carry no table.
