About Miller Huggins
Born 1878 in Cincinnati, OH (d. 1929), Miller Huggins was a switch-hitting second baseman who debuted in 1904 and played 13 major-league seasons. He batted .265 with 1,474 hits, 9 home runs, and 324 stolen bases in 1,586 games. He was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame. After his playing days he managed the New York Yankees to their first six American League pennants and three World Series titles, including the legendary 1927 'Murderers' Row' club.
