About this card

This unusual combination card crosses league lines to pair two premier sluggers: the National League's Ted Kluszewski and the American League's Ted Williams. Kluszewski, the muscular Cincinnati first baseman, had led the NL with 49 home runs and 141 RBI in 1954 and ranked among the majors' top power hitters through the mid-1950s. Williams, Boston's 'Splendid Splinter,' was the era's most disciplined hitter, winning the American League batting title in both 1957 (.388) and 1958 (.328) - the latter at age 40, making him the oldest batting champion ever. Williams is a Hall of Famer. Topps's 'Sluggers Supreme' card celebrates two of the decade's most feared bats side by side.
