The story on this card
Topps devoted card #233 to Game 2 of the 1961 World Series, played October 5 at Yankee Stadium, where Cincinnati evened the Series at a game apiece with a 6-2 win. Joey Jay, a 21-game winner that summer, went the distance on four hits, outpitching Yankee starter Ralph Terry. Gordy Coleman put the Reds ahead with a two-run homer into the right-center bleachers in the fourth after Frank Robinson reached on a Clete Boyer error; Yogi Berra answered for New York with a two-run drive. Cincinnati went back in front in the fifth when Elio Chacon raced home on an Elston Howard passed ball, and Johnny Edwards drove in runs in the sixth and eighth. It was the Reds' only win in a Series the Yankees closed out in five. The card comes from the third series of 1962.

Graded population — a scarcity guide, not a price. Snapshot 2026-09-24. Half-grades fold down (8.5→8), and PSA's qualified grades are counted separately from the straight-grade rows shown here. Slabs of the three cards printed #139 are joined by description, never by number alone. PSA registers the green tints as a separate set; a tint's population is listed under that state of the card it belongs to.
