The story on this card
Card 235 belongs to the 1962 Topps World Series subset, which recaps the 1961 Fall Classic between the Yankees and the Cincinnati Reds, and it pictures Whitey Ford. Ford started Game 4 at Crosley Field on October 8, 1961, and retired the first nine Reds; when Elio Chacon grounded to Bobby Richardson for the last out of the third, Ford passed Babe Ruth's World Series mark of 29 2/3 scoreless innings, set for the Red Sox in 1916 and 1918. An ankle injury ended his day after five innings, the record at 32, and Jim Coates finished the 7-0 shutout. The win put New York up three games to one; Ford was named Series Most Valuable Player. It is print series 3.

Graded population — a scarcity guide, not a price. Snapshot 2026-09-24. Half-grades fold down (8.5→8), and PSA's qualified grades are counted separately from the straight-grade rows shown here. Slabs of the three cards printed #139 are joined by description, never by number alone. PSA registers the green tints as a separate set; a tint's population is listed under that state of the card it belongs to.
