1966 Topps #532 Aurelio Monteagudo
Checklist sources disagree on the exact count of short-printed cards in this run, so scarcity for this specific card is noted only at the range level, not confirmed here.

About Aurelio Monteagudo
Monteagudo began 1966 in the Athletics bullpen before Kansas City sold his contract to the Houston Astros that May for $20,000, and he split the season's relief work between both clubs. This solo Athletics card belongs to the set's seventh print series and carries the high-number designation.
Aurelio Monteagudo was a Cuban right-handed pitcher who reached the majors with the Kansas City Athletics and went on to appear for the Houston Astros, Chicago White Sox, Kansas City Royals and California Angels across parts of seven big-league seasons. He signed with the Athletics as a teenager in 1961 and worked his way up through their farm system, striking out 205 batters for Triple-A Portland in 1963 before his September call-up. His fastest path to the majors ran through relief work, and he bounced between the Athletics' rotation and bullpen and the Pacific Coast League for several years before being sold to Houston in 1966. After stops in the Reds and White Sox systems, he returned to the majors with Kansas City's expansion Royals in 1970 and closed out his big-league career with the Angels in 1973. He spent the following decade pitching in the Mexican League and 20 winters in Venezuela, later coaching in the Angels' minor-league system, and was inducted into the Venezuelan Baseball Hall of Fame in 2009.

Graded population — a scarcity guide, not a price. Data as of 2026-09-04. Half grades fold down for both graders (8.5→8); PSA qualified slabs (OC, ST, PD, MC and the like) are not counted. Where SGC registers no separate row for a variation state, its slabs of that card are listed under the base state.
