1966 Topps #546 Dwight Siebler
Two of the four published short-print lists tag this high number; the lists disagree, so scarcity is stated for the seventh series as a whole.

About Dwight Siebler
Card #546 is a high number from the seventh series, capturing Siebler with the Twins during his only full major-league season. He worked 23 games, including two starts, for Minnesota that year, earning his final career win in relief against the California Angels on August 17 and picking up his lone big-league save. Collectors should note that published checklists disagree on which 1966 high numbers were printed in shorter supply.
Dwight Siebler was a right-handed pitcher from Columbus, Nebraska who signed with the Philadelphia Phillies out of the University of Nebraska for a $20,000 bonus. He hurt his elbow throwing a fastball to Harmon Killebrew in his first big-league spring training game in 1962, permanently costing him velocity off his fastball. The Twins purchased his contract from the Phillies system in August 1963, and he immediately turned in two complete-game wins in his rookie stretch run, beating Washington 10-1 and Detroit 3-1. Unable to stick as a starter, Siebler spent most of 1964 and 1965 shuttling to Triple-A Atlanta and Denver while working to rebuild his repertoire around a hard curve and a screwball-change he learned from teammate Ruben Gomez. His only full big-league season came in 1966, when he worked 23 games, with two starts, for Minnesota, picked up his final major-league win and his only save. He pitched two games for the Twins in 1967 before retiring, finishing with a 4-3 career record over five seasons.

Where SGC registers no separate row for a variation state, its slabs of that card are listed under the base state.
