The story on this card
Lamb made 35 appearances for the Dodgers in 1970, every one in relief, and went 6-1 with a 3.79 ERA. When the season ended Los Angeles traded him to Cleveland. His #131 card is a Rookie Stars card he shares with Bob Stinson, both printed with the Dodgers, and it is a rookie card for each of them, from the first series. Ray Lamb pitched for the Dodgers in 1969-70 and the Indians in 1971-73. He was the last Dodger to wear Jackie Robinson's number 42, and after baseball became a commercial sculptor of fantasy miniature figurines.
Stinson shares Rookie Stars card #131 with Ray Lamb, both shown with the Dodgers, a first-series issue that is the rookie card for each. He had debuted on September 23, 1969, going 3-for-8 in four games, and then appeared in four more in 1970, with 3 at-bats. The Dodgers had taken him 15th overall in the secondary phase of the June 1966 draft out of Miami-Dade Community College. Switch-hitting catcher, 1969 to 1980, who played for the Dodgers, Cardinals, Astros, Expos and Royals before becoming the primary catcher of the expansion Seattle Mariners in 1977 and 1978.
