The story on this card

Jenkins's 1969 season was one Dodgers appearance, a single inning on September 30 with one strikeout and a 0.00 ERA, his first major league action since 1963. His 1970 card is #286, the Dodgers Rookies card in the third series, shared with Bill Buckner, also printed with Los Angeles. It is the rookie card for both men and ranks among the key rookie cards of the gray-bordered 1970 set. Right-hander Jack Jenkins pitched eight major league games across three seasons, seven for the 1962-63 Washington Senators and one for the 1969 Los Angeles Dodgers, going 0-3 with a 4.72 ERA over 26 2/3 innings.

Buckner opened 1970 as the Dodgers' starting left fielder after winning the club's outstanding-rookie award in spring training, and singled for his first major league hit on April 8 against Cincinnati. He hit .121 in 14 games and went to Triple-A Spokane, where he played much of the year with a broken jaw wired shut and batted .335. Card #286 is a Rookie Stars card from the third series, shared with Jack Jenkins, a rookie card for both men and one of the set's key rookie cards. Bill Buckner was a Dodgers outfielder who became a first baseman with the Cubs, won the 1980 NL batting title and collected 2,715 hits, but is best known for the Game 6 error in the 1986 World Series with Boston.
