The story on this card

Morales shares Padres Rookie Stars card #262 with Jim Williams, a second-series card and a rookie card for both men. He was San Diego's Opening Day left fielder in 1970. After batting .155 in 28 games over the first five weeks, he was sent to Triple-A Salt Lake City on May 12 for the rest of the year. Jerry Morales, a Puerto Rican outfielder, played 1969 to 1983 for the Padres, Cubs, Cardinals, Tigers and Mets. He led the 1975 Cubs with 91 RBI and was a 1977 All-Star, finishing with 95 home runs and a .259 average.

Williams spent most of 1970 at Triple-A Salt Lake before San Diego recalled him in September for 11 games, in which he went 4 for 14. His card that year is #262, the second-series Padres Rookies card he shares with Jerry Morales, and it is a rookie card for both men. Jim Williams was a San Diego Padres outfielder in the club's first two seasons, hitting .282 over 24 games in 1969 and 1970. A 1968 expansion-draft pick from the Dodgers system, he retired in 1973 at age 26.
