About Don Hahn

Hahn spent 1970 in Montreal, hitting .255 over 82 games with 4 stolen bases. His rookie card, #94 from the first series, lists him with the Expos. A few days before the 1971 season began, the Mets sent Ron Swoboda and minor leaguer Rich Hacker to Montreal in exchange for him.

Don Hahn was a right-handed outfielder, known primarily for his defense, who played seven major league seasons between 1969 and 1975 for the Montreal Expos, New York Mets, Philadelphia Phillies, St. Louis Cardinals and San Diego Padres. A San Francisco native who attended Campbell High School, he was a 17th-round pick of the Giants in 1966. On April 8, 1969, he was the starting center fielder in the Expos' first game, an 11-10 win at Shea Stadium, and he fielded the first ball in franchise history, Tommie Agee's single in the first inning. He became the starting center fielder for the pennant-winning 1973 Mets and started all 12 postseason games, as New York beat Cincinnati 3-2 in the NLCS and lost the World Series to Oakland 4-3. That July he collided in the outfield with left fielder George Theodore, who suffered a dislocated hip. Hahn finished with 454 games, a .236 average and 7 home runs.
