About Jim Nash
Nash's first National League season, 1970, brought a 13-9 record and a 4.07 ERA with Atlanta. He made 33 starts, threw 212 1/3 innings and struck out 153. His #306 comes from the third series and exists in two printings, one with a black blob on the card and one with the blob airbrushed away.
Jim Nash was a right-handed pitcher who broke in with the Kansas City Athletics on July 3, 1966 and immediately became part of a young Kansas City rotation. He went 12-1 with a 2.06 ERA over 127 innings as a rookie, finishing second in American League Rookie of the Year voting behind Tommie Agee. Nash appeared on the cover of the March 13, 1967 issue of Sports Illustrated and was featured in its story with fellow young Athletics pitchers Catfish Hunter and Blue Moon Odom. He pitched for the franchise after its move to Oakland while battling shoulder soreness. He pitched three seasons with the Atlanta Braves and closed his career with the Philadelphia Phillies in 1972. Over seven major league seasons he went 68-64 with a 3.58 ERA. He struck out 771 batters in 1,107 1/3 innings.

Graded population — a scarcity guide, not a price. Data as of 2026-10-19. Half grades fold down for both graders (8.5→8); PSA qualified slabs (OC, ST, PD, MC and the like) are not counted. Where a grader registers a variation separately its population is listed under that variation; PSA slabs whose label names no variation are listed as not designated, while SGC slabs whose label names no variation are counted under 306a - No Black Blob. SGC also lists 1 slab on this number under a label that cannot be matched to one variation (“Black Ink Spot Var.” 1); it is not counted in any line above.
