Drannon Eugene "Skip" Guinn was a left-handed pitcher born October 25, 1944, in St. Charles, Missouri. He graduated from Venice High School in Los Angeles and attended Santa Monica College before signing as an undrafted free agent with the Milwaukee Braves organization in 1964. He worked his way through the minors, going 8-7 with a 2.45 ERA and 140 strikeouts for a Florida State League club in 1965. In 1966 he went 10-10 with a 3.94 ERA and four shutouts for the Kinston Eagles of the Carolina League. Guinn debuted in the majors with the Atlanta Braves in 1968 at age 23. In April 1969 he was traded to the Houston Astros after first baseman Donn Clendenon refused to report to Houston. Guinn pitched parts of three big-league seasons, 1968 through 1971, appearing exclusively in relief and finishing his career 1-2 with one save. His grandson, Kyle Harrison, later became a left-handed major league pitcher as well.
