The story on this card

In 1973 Reggie Jackson drove in 117 runs to lead the American League, and Willie Stargell drove in 119 to lead the majors. Jackson batted .293 with 32 home runs for the Athletics; Stargell hit 44 for the Pirates and also led the National League in slugging. Their RBI board is #203 in the 1974 Topps set, with Jackson printed with Oakland and Stargell with Pittsburgh.

Oakland outfielder Reggie Jackson attended Arizona State on a football scholarship. He played summer baseball for Walter Youse's amateur team in Baltimore before taking over Arizona State's center-field job from Rick Monday. Willie Stargell was Pittsburgh's power-hitting left fielder and first baseman, a seven-time All-Star known as "Pops" who won two World Series with the Pirates and, at age 39, took the 1979 National League MVP, NLCS MVP and World Series MVP awards.
