1976 Topps #484 Eric Raich

About Eric Raich
Raich pitched in one game in 1976, on September 12 at the tail end of the season, throwing 2 2/3 innings for a 16.88 ERA. His #484 pictures him with the Indians and is his rookie card; in 1975, his first season, he had a 5.54 ERA over 92 2/3 innings.
Eric Raich was a 6 ft 4 in right-handed pitcher from Detroit who appeared in 19 games for the Cleveland Indians in 1975 and 1976, going 7-8 with a 5.85 ERA over 95 1/3 innings. He attended Dominguez High School in Compton, California, and the University of Southern California, and Cleveland made him the first overall pick of the January 1972 draft. His 1975 season was his only full run in the majors: he started 17 of his 18 games, won seven, threw both of his career complete games and struck out 34. He spent the rest of his career in the minors and left the game after the 1978 season. He later worked as a pitching instructor at a baseball training facility in a Cleveland suburb.
