The story on this card

Card #66 opens the five-card Father & Son subset (#66-70) with Gus Bell and Buddy Bell. Gus is shown with the Cincinnati Reds, the club where he made four All-Star teams in the 1950s, and Buddy with the Cleveland Indians. Buddy played 159 games for Cleveland in 1976, 158 of them at third base. He hit .281 with 7 home runs and 60 RBI. Gus gave his son the nickname Buddy to tell him apart from another family member also named David.

A four-time All-Star and the first of three big league generations of Bells, Gus Bell spent nine seasons in the Cincinnati outfield, drove in 100 or more runs four times, and closed out his career with the Mets and the Braves. Third baseman Buddy Bell played 18 seasons for Cleveland, Texas, Cincinnati and Houston, winning six straight Gold Gloves from 1979 to 1984. The son of Gus Bell, he finished with 2,514 hits and 201 home runs and later managed three clubs.
