1976 Topps #388 Stan Perzanowski

About Stan Perzanowski
Perzanowski's rookie card, #388, shows him with the Rangers after a 1975 in which he made eight starts among his 12 games and struck out 26. In 1976 he worked five times out of the bullpen for Texas and finished with a 10.03 ERA over 11 2/3 innings.
Stan Perzanowski was a right-handed pitcher who worked in parts of five major-league seasons between 1971 and 1978. The Chicago White Sox drafted him in the 16th round in 1968, and he debuted at age 20 in 1971 with five relief games and one save. After 1972 and 1973 in the minors he returned to the White Sox briefly in 1974, then went to the Texas Rangers in a February 1975 trade for Steve Dunning. That year he went 3-3 with a team-best 3.00 ERA in 66 innings. The Rangers sent him with cash to Cleveland for Fritz Peterson in May 1976, and he moved on to the California Angels organization in March 1977 to complete an earlier deal. Released that August, he signed with the Minnesota Twins and in 1978 went 2-7 with a 5.24 ERA in 13 games. The Twins released him in February 1979 and he retired with a 5-11 record and a 5.11 ERA.
