1977 Topps #548 Joel Youngblood

About Joel Youngblood
Youngblood appeared in 55 games for Cincinnati in 1976, and his rookie card, 1977 Topps #548, carried the Reds name. During spring training in 1977, Cincinnati traded him to St. Louis for Bill Caudill. He homered in his first at-bat for the Cardinals, in an exhibition game.
Joel Youngblood played outfield and infield during 14 major league seasons with the Reds, Cardinals, Mets, Expos and Giants. On August 4, 1982, he singled off Ferguson Jenkins for the Mets in Chicago, was traded to Montreal, and collected another hit off Steve Carlton in Philadelphia that night. He represented New York in the 1981 All-Star Game and batted .350 in 143 at-bats that season. Youngblood finished his major league career with 969 hits, 80 home runs and a .265 average. He managed the Kane County Cougars in 1992 and joined Arizona's major league staff as third-base coach in July 2010.
