Larry Milbourne was a switch-hitting utility infielder who played 11 major league seasons, 1974 through 1984, for the Houston Astros, Seattle Mariners, New York Yankees, Minnesota Twins, Cleveland Indians and Philadelphia Phillies. He came from Port Norris, New Jersey, and reached Houston as a Rule 5 pick from the Cardinals' Tulsa club in December 1973. His rookie year of 1974 earned him a place on the Topps All-Star Rookie Team. Most of his time was at second base, with stretches at shortstop and third. In 1979 with Seattle he hit .278 in 123 games. With the 1981 Yankees he hit .313 and appeared in the division series, the ALCS and the World Series. In 989 games he batted .254 with 11 home runs and 184 RBIs. Seattle released him after the 1984 season and he retired.
