About Tony Scott

Scott batted .291 with 3 home runs and 41 RBIs while sharing outfield time with Jerry Mumphrey in 1977. His Cardinals rookie card followed as 1978 Topps #352. St. Louis had acquired him with Steve Dunning and Pat Scanlon from Montreal on November 8, 1976, for Bill Greif, Sam Mejias and Angel Torres.

Tony Scott patrolled center field for Montreal, St. Louis and Houston during an 11-season major league career. The Expos drafted the Withrow High School outfielder from Cincinnati in the 71st round in 1969. His first September call-up in 1973 produced 11 appearances and one at-bat. On June 6, 1981, St. Louis traded him to Houston for pitcher Joaquin Andujar. He returned to Montreal during the 1984 season and finished with a .249 career average, 699 hits and 125 stolen bases. Scott joined Philadelphia's minor league coaching staff in 1989 and coached for the major league Phillies in 2000 and 2001.
