About Calvin Natt
A rugged 6'6" small forward out of Northeast Louisiana (now Louisiana-Monroe), Calvin Leon Natt was the 8th overall pick of the 1979 NBA Draft, taken by the New Jersey Nets. He earned NBA All-Rookie First Team honors in 1980, then played 11 seasons for five teams: the Nets, Portland Trail Blazers, Denver Nuggets, San Antonio Spurs and Indiana Pacers. His best years came in Denver, where he made his lone All-Star team in 1985. Known for his physical, relentless game, Natt was nicknamed "Pit Bull" by Nuggets teammates Alex English and Wayne Cooper. He retired in 1990 having scored 10,291 career points (17.2 ppg) with 4,070 rebounds (6.8 rpg) over 599 games. This card captures him in his Nuggets prime as part of the deep, team-by-team veteran roster that fills out the landmark 1986-87 Fleer set alongside its famous rookies. After basketball he became an ordained minister in Denver.
