About Scottie Pippen
One of the defining rookie cards of the modern era, Fleer #20 introduces Scottie Pippen — and misspells him: every copy carries the uncorrected "Pippin" error on the back. The small forward from Hamburg, Arkansas walked on at NAIA Central Arkansas, sprouted from 6'1" to 6'8", and went fifth overall in the 1987 draft to Seattle before a draft-day trade sent him to Chicago. Alongside Michael Jordan, "Pip" — the friendly shortening of his surname fans adopted — powered six Bulls championships (1991–93, 1996–98), earning seven All-Star nods, 1994 All-Star Game MVP honors, three All-NBA First Teams (1994–96), and eight straight All-Defensive First Team selections (1992–99). A 1992 Dream Teamer who finished with 18,940 points across 17 seasons in Chicago, Houston, and Portland, he was named to both the 50 Greatest and NBA 75th Anniversary teams, then entered the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in 2010 — inducted the same day for his career and the Dream Team.
