About Dave Corzine

An Arlington Heights kid who stayed home for college, Dave Corzine still owns DePaul's career rebounding record (1,151) and hung 46 points on Louisville in the 1978 Sweet 16 — the Blue Demons retired his No. 40 in 2025. Washington took the 6'11" center 18th overall in the 1978 draft, and he reached the NBA Finals as a rookie before the Bullets fell to Seattle in 1979. After two seasons in San Antonio, he came home again in 1982 for a seven-year run as the Bulls' workhorse pivot, peaking at 14.0 points and 8.7 rebounds in 1982-83 and starting all 82 games in 1983-84. This Fleer card — not a rookie, he was a decade into his career — catches his final Chicago season; that summer the Bulls dealt him to the expansion Magic for the second-round picks that became Toni Kukoc and P.J. Brown. He retired with 7,615 points and 5,262 rebounds across 13 NBA seasons.
