About this card

This is one of the eleven combo cards in the set, each pairing two or three players under a headline rather than giving one man his own card - Managers' Dream (#18, Mantle and Mays), AL & NL Homer Kings (#401, Maris and Cepeda) and Rival League Relief Aces (#423, Face and Wilhelm) among them.

The story on this card

Card 211 is a combination card, and the title is Topps shorthand: the midway is the middle of the diamond, and the space goes to the two men who held it down for the Milwaukee Braves. Frank Bolling at second base and Roy McMillan at shortstop both landed in Milwaukee in December 1960 trades - Bolling from Detroit in the deal that sent Bill Bruton the other way, McMillan from Cincinnati for pitchers Joey Jay and Juan Pizarro - so the Braves rebuilt their keystone combination in a single winter, and by 1962 Topps had a ready-made pairing.

Frank Bolling - a steady-fielding Tigers and Braves second baseman of the 1950s-60s who won a Gold Glove and made two All-Star teams while anchoring the infield for over a decade. Cincinnati Reds shortstop nicknamed "Mr. Shortstop" for his glove work, McMillan won three straight Gold Gloves (1957-1959) and made two All-Star teams as one of his era's premier defensive infielders.

Graded population — a scarcity guide, not a price. Snapshot 2026-09-24. Half-grades fold down (8.5→8), and PSA's qualified grades are counted separately from the straight-grade rows shown here. Slabs of the three cards printed #139 are joined by description, never by number alone. PSA registers the green tints as a separate set; a tint's population is listed under that state of the card it belongs to.
