The story on this card

Card 143 in the 1963 Topps set belongs to the World Series subset and recaps Game 2 of the 1962 Fall Classic, played October 5 at Candlestick Park in San Francisco. Jack Sanford, coming off a 24-win regular season for the Giants, threw a complete-game shutout, holding the Yankees to three hits and no runs. San Francisco opened the scoring in the first inning when Chuck Hiller's leadoff double set up a run scored on two groundouts, and Willie McCovey put the game away with a seventh-inning home run over the right-field fence. Ralph Terry took the loss for New York. The card was issued in Topps' second series.
