The story on this card

Card 147 is part of Topps' 1963 World Series subset, recapping Game 6 of the 1962 Fall Classic. Played October 15 at Candlestick Park after a rain delay, it was a duel of left-handers: Billy Pierce outdueled Whitey Ford with a complete-game three-hitter, evening the Series at three games apiece with a 5-2 Giants win. San Francisco broke through in the fourth on a Ford pickoff error and RBI hits from Orlando Cepeda and Jim Davenport, then added two more in the fifth on RBI singles by Felipe Alou and Cepeda. New York's only runs came on a Roger Maris home run and a Tony Kubek RBI single. The card is print series 2.
