A high number from the 1965 set's seventh series, inside the short-print zone.

About Gino Cimoli
Cimoli's last card in the 1961-1969 Topps run shows him with the Los Angeles Angels, his seventh and final major league club. It follows a 1964 season split between Kansas City and Baltimore that produced just eight hits in 67 at-bats across 42 games. Card #569 is a high number from the 1965 set's seventh series, inside the short-print zone. Cimoli signed with the Angels that April, played four games and was released in May.
Gino Cimoli was a right-handed-hitting outfielder from San Francisco who broke in with the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1956 and played ten major league seasons, 1956 through 1965, for seven clubs: the Dodgers, St. Louis Cardinals, Pittsburgh Pirates, Milwaukee Braves, Kansas City Athletics, Baltimore Orioles and Los Angeles Angels. His first full season, 1957, was his best: a .293 average, 156 hits and a National League All-Star selection. Cimoli owns two pieces of Dodgers history. He scored the final run at Ebbets Field on September 24, 1957, in Brooklyn's last home game there, and on April 15, 1958, manager Walter Alston sent the North Beach native up as the first batter in a major league game played on the West Coast. He appeared in the 1956 World Series with Brooklyn and won a title with the 1960 Pirates. He finished with a .265 average, 808 hits, 321 RBI and more triples (48) than home runs (44), then drove a UPS delivery route in San Francisco for more than two decades, honored in 1990 for 21 years without a traffic accident.

Frequently asked questions
What is the 1965 Topps #569 card?
It is card #569 of the 598-card 1965 Topps Baseball set, picturing Gino Cimoli of the Los Angeles Angels.
Is 1965 Topps #569 a scarce card?
It is a high number card from the seventh and last series, #507-598. Unlike most 1960s Topps sets the 1965 highs are not scarce as a run - the premium sits on the short-printed cards inside #523-598. It is also a short-print zone card. Forty-four of the 76 cards in #523-598 were short-printed; #507-522 was not. The zone is stated as a range because the catalogs disagree on exactly which cards, so no single card is marked.
How many cards are in the 1965 Topps Baseball set?
598 cards, tracked as 600 collectible states. Numbers run from 1 to 598 with no gaps and no printed-number collisions, and two checklist cards - #79 and #508 - carry catalogued print variations that the master set counts separately.
