The story on this card

The 1967 American League ERA race had three White Sox and Indians arms bunched at the top. Chicago's Joe Horlen led the league at 2.06 over 258 innings, going 19-7 with a September no-hitter against Detroit and his only All-Star selection. Teammate Gary Peters, the 1963 Rookie of the Year, was next at 2.28 with a 16-11 mark and his second career All-Star nod. Cleveland's Sonny Siebert followed at 2.38, going 10-12 a year removed from his no-hitter against Washington and his first All-Star turn, both in 1966. This League Leaders card puts all three names on one board, crediting Horlen and Peters to the White Sox and Siebert to the Indians for the season behind the numbers.

A soft-spoken right-hander from San Antonio, Joel Horlen anchored the Chicago White Sox rotation through the 1960s with a hard curve and a stingy ERA, throwing a 1967 no-hitter for a club that could barely score him a run. Gary Peters - White Sox lefty who needed seven minor-league seasons and four short call-ups before an emergency start stuck in 1963, the year he led the AL in ERA and won Rookie of the Year; he later tied for the league lead in wins. Sonny Siebert - right-hander who threw a no-hitter for Cleveland in 1966 and made two All-Star teams over a 140-win career with the Indians, Red Sox, Rangers, Cardinals, Padres, and Athletics.
