Frank Baker was a left-handed-hitting outfielder who played 125 games for the Cleveland Indians in 1969 and 1971, batting .232 with four home runs. Born in Bartow, Florida, he played at Franklin High School in Somerset, New Jersey, and was inducted into its football hall of fame. He signed with Cleveland in 1964, played three years in the minors, and served in the Army in the Vietnam War in 1967 and 1968, reaching private first class. Cleveland fans called him Home Run Baker, after the dead-ball era Hall of Famer of that name. Across seven minor league seasons he hit .284 with 51 home runs and 235 RBI. His last season in professional baseball was 1972, at Triple-A Salt Lake in the Angels' system. He died in Raleigh, North Carolina, on January 28, 2010, at 66.
