1970 Topps #486 Terry Harmon

About Terry Harmon
Philadelphia selected Terry Harmon 85th overall in the 1965 draft. He singled off Fergie Jenkins as a pinch-hitter at Wrigley Field on April 8, 1969, his first major league at-bat. He finished that season with 48 hits and one stolen base. His 1970 Topps card, #486, was a fifth-series Phillies issue.
Terry Walter Harmon spent his major league career with the Philadelphia Phillies, playing primarily second base and shortstop. The Toledo native attended DeVilbiss High School and Ohio University. At Ohio, he earned All-Mid-American Conference honors at shortstop in 1964 and third base in 1965, batted .401 for his college career, and was a second-team All-American in 1965. Over 10 major league seasons, Harmon batted .233 in 547 games. He collected 262 hits and scored 164 runs. He also served four years as the Phillies' player representative. Ohio inducted him into its athletics Hall of Fame in 1978. After baseball, he spent more than two decades in the cable business.
