The Angels used Allen in 54 games in 1971, one of them a start. He went 4-6 with a 2.49 ERA, and his 15 saves ranked seventh in the American League. Card #152 is a second-series Rookie Stars card shared with Winston Llenas; both men are listed with the Angels, and it is the rookie card of each. Right-handed reliever for the Angels, Rangers and White Sox from 1969 to 1975, a 1968 first-round pick, 12th overall, who saved 22 games and went 8-25 with a 4.69 ERA in 159 appearances.
Llenas reached the 1971 checklist after major league seasons in 1968 and 1969 with the Angels. He hit .128 in 1968 and .170 in 1969. Card #152, from the second series, is a Rookie Stars card shared with Lloyd Allen; both men are printed with California, and it is the rookie card for each. Dominican infielder and outfielder who played 300 games for the California Angels between 1968 and 1975, led the American League in pinch-hits in 1973, and later entered the Caribbean Baseball Hall of Fame in 2008.
