The story on this card

Luzinski shares #439, a fourth-series Rookie Stars card, with Scott Reid, and it is his rookie card. It followed a September 1970 call-up in which he went 2 for 12. That year he had hit .325 with 33 home runs and 120 RBIs at Reading. In 1971 he hit .312 with 36 homers and 114 RBIs in Triple-A. He rejoined Philadelphia in September and played first base for the final 27 games. His first major-league home run came on September 7, and he finished at .300 in 28 games. Greg Luzinski was a power-hitting left fielder for the Phillies and designated hitter for the White Sox, a four-time All-Star who hit 307 home runs, led the National League in RBIs in 1975 and won the 1980 World Series with Philadelphia.

Rookie Stars card #439 paired Reid with Greg Luzinski, both listed as Phillies, in the fourth series of 1971; it was Luzinski's rookie card. Reid had played his last major league game on September 29, 1970, and spent 1971 at Triple-A with the Eugene Emeralds. Scott Reid, a left-handed Phillies outfielder, played 38 games in 1969 and 1970 and hit .147. He spent more than 40 years as a scout and executive, with the Phillies, Cubs, Marlins and, from 2002 to 2020, the Detroit Tigers.
