The story on this card
Baltimore faced elimination in Game 6 on October 16 at Memorial Stadium and won 3-2 in ten innings before 44,174, forcing a seventh game. Pittsburgh started Bob Moose, its sixth different starter of the Series, and he threw five shutout innings. Al Oliver doubled in the second off Jim Palmer and scored on Bob Robertson's single, and Roberto Clemente homered in the third for a 2-0 lead. Don Buford homered in the sixth, and Davey Johnson's single in the seventh tied it at 2-2. In the tenth, Frank Robinson walked, reached third on a Merv Rettenmund single and scored on Brooks Robinson's short fly to center, beating Vic Davalillo's throw. Card #228 in the 1972 Topps World Series subset (#223-230) carries both the Orioles and the Pirates and sits in the second series.
